We believe faith is lived through service. Together, we share God’s love by caring for neighbors in Wallingford and beyond through hands-on service, partnerships, and financial support. We partner with local social service agencies to provide food, clothing, and holiday gifts for children and families. First Church is dedicated to sharing God’s light and love with those in need.
Monthly and Pop-up Drives
Our Monthly Drives Team organizes food, clothing, and holiday gift drives for local partners including Master’s Manna, Meriden-Wallingford Chrysalis Center, the Women & Families Center, Spanish Community of Wallingford, Connecticut Department of Children & Families, and the Ulbrich Boys and Girls Club.
The monthly drives change each month. =We also respond to urgent community needs with pop-up drives throughout the year.
Ongoing Mission Projects
We support local, regional, and global ministries through volunteer service and financial giving, including:
- Annual Golf Tournament: Raising funds for breast cancer research
- FedEx Team: Distributing recovered goods to those in need
- Books for Prisoners: Providing books to incarcerated individuals
- Boy Scout Troop 5: Proud sponsor for over 100 years
- Open and Affirming Team: Guides our commitment to full inclusion and belonging for all.
- Mission Funds Distribution Team: Distributes financial support to a diverse range of local and national organizations.
- Holy Joe’s Café: Supporting military members through coffee ministry
- Wallingford Community Dinners, Inc.: Hosting holiday meals for our community
International Partnership: Bawa Health Initiative
When an opportunity arose to support a village in Cameroon, a lasting partnership began.
With the help of our congregation, we have provided mosquito nets and water filters, supported the construction of a primary care health center, and continue to assist with the clinic’s ongoing operation.
Over time, meaningful friendships have grown between our church and the people of Bawa, a reminder that mission changes hearts on both sides of the globe.
